                             Kalu Gaga is very famous river in sri Lanka. The river is originates from Samanalakanda. This river falows in to the sea at Kaluthara. The Kalu Gaga flows throught the Rathnapura and Kaluthara Distric. The length of Kalu Gaga is 129 km. Kalu Gaga basin is one of the most important river basing in Sri Lanka which receives very high rainfalls and has higher discharges. The special fearure of Kalu Gaga is that its irrigation technology is very advanced.  Among them the lake embankement is special. There are many tributaries of this Kalu Gaga. As the tributaries of the Kalu Gaga rivers like Kuru Gaga, Denawaka Gaga, Maguru Gaga, Delwala Gaga, Niriyali Gaga can be pointed out. The Black River irrigates large area of Sri Lanka.
